The main purpose of waste diversion is to reduce the environmental impact of large community events. We want to keep all of the fun and the sense of community - but eliminate all the waste and promote sustainable waste-sorting practices!

The Halton Environmental Network will help at your event by sorting waste into compost, recycling, and garbage while educating event-goers on sustainable practices. We will also help to ensure that the event spaces stay clean and waste-free.

    The Benefits

    • Minimizing the amount of waste sent to landfills and incinerators, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and pollution associated with these disposal methods
    • Conserving natural resources by reusing and recycling materials, which lessens the need for extracting raw materials from the Earth.
    • Reducing energy consumption, as recycling and reprocessing materials often require less energy than producing new items from scratch.
    • Lowering pollution by decreasing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills, this will prevent harmful substances from leaching into soil and water.

Waste diversion is a critical component of environmental stewardship, conserving resources, and building a healthier & more sustainable future for all living beings. Its positive impact on the planet and its inhabitants makes it an essential aspect of our collective efforts to protect and preserve our environment
