Mary Scopino has been an educator for over ten years, working for the Halton catholic school board and multicultural newcomer centres throughout Halton. During the past five years, she has enjoyed building a curriculum based on natural, purposeful and interactive hands on learning while educating students on different initiatives such as how important bees are for our environment and incorporating outdoor classrooms learning activities with recyclable materials. She has always been passionate on helping and building a greater community and integrating multiculturalism. The years of working with newcomer families and their children have allowed her to become aware of the importance of our environment and the impact to our community. Mary enjoys the outdoors and can communicate in both English and Arabic.
